The Real Sword Type 56 series rifles are without a doubt some of the most realistic AK series replicas ever created for the airsoft market. These rifles are constructed using the same materials as the real firearm so that they look, feel and even smell like their real steel counterparts. Their heart stopping looks combined with their tango stopping power makes them the king of all AK’s.

Unlike other AK replicas that use aluminum, zinc or other mystery alloys, the Real Sword Type 56 rifles are made out of solid steel making them insanely rugged. Many aspects of their design were taken directly from the real AK such as how the front of the magazine hooks in to the receiver and how the front sight is pinned to the barrel instead of being held on by a screw. Even their magazines are made out of steel so locking one into the steel receiver emits a series of bone chilling metallic clicks. We did note that since the rifle is built so close to the real steel specs that it often doesn’t like to accept many other brands of magazines. Thankfully the Real Sword does offer spare magazines which are of excellent quality, superior design and are quite affordable. With a typical AK you must carefully hook the front of the magazine precisely into the rifles mag well in order for it to lock. The Real Swords design is true to the real steel which is much more forgiving and doesn’t require you to be so precise which can save you precious seconds in a firefight.

The Type 56-1 features real wood furniture and is configured with an under-folding stock. This stock is constructed out of steel with CNC machined locks making it one of the strongest under-folders on the market.

Internally this rifle is fitted with a metal RS-T2 gearbox of Real Swords own design. It is outfitted with steel gears running on 7mm bearing bushings for exceptionally smooth operation. Its rate of fire is a realistic 700 RPM using only an 8.4v battery and there is enough room in the battery compartment to house up to 13 2/3A cells making it possible to use a diverse range of batteries. This rifle uses an AK Stick Type battery which is housed in a compartment which runs along the top of the receiver all the way into the gas tube so even a 9.6v has tons of room. Also, a separate wiring harness extension is run into the stock allowing you to run additional cells in series. Unlike its European variants these Type 56 rifles are equipped with an M120 spring which allows this rifle to achieve a muzzle velocity of 425+ fps right out of the box. This power coupled with its 455mm inner barrel allows the rifle to send shots out to 180 feet away with deadly accuracy.
